Social media ‘influencers’ have become a huge industry, as more and more people spend their time on the likes of Instagram, YouTube and Facebook rather than ‘traditional’ media like newspapers and TV. Vlogger Elle Darby and Paul Stenson, owner of The The White Moose Café in Dublin, might be the beginning of a backlash against entitled influencers and their habit of asking for freebies in exchange for ‘exposure.’ YouTuber Elle Darby sent this email to The Charleville Lodge Hotel, requesting free accommodation Image credits: WhiteMooseCafe Mr. Stenson’s sharp rebuke garnered a huge reaction online, with many people supporting his stance against an industry that we haven’t quite come to grips with yet. Why Acosta absolutely had to go

(CNN)Sometimes no deal is better than a bad deal. That is perhaps one of the most important lessons that now former Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta should absorb as his career appears to be crashing and burning in the wake of the “Lolita Express,” the nickname accorded to Jeffrey Epstein’s now-infamous corporate jet. The reason is that pedophiles are well known to be repeat offenders. Acosta was an experienced enough prosecutor back then to know that any guilty plea likely to put a pedophile back in circulation where he can damage the lives of even more innocent children is most probably a very bad deal. It is also the kind of plea destined to rebound and destroy the prosecutor’s own reputation …
